Algerian Justice Minister Tayeb Belaiz said Tuesday (26 October) that his county is determined to fight drug proliferation especially among youth. A new bill is under discussion in the National People's Assembly (APN) on prevention and suppression of the drug trade. Belaiz said the bill supports surveillance and closing the legal gaps between the punishment of users and dealers. He also stressed the importance of international co-operation in the fight against drugs and support of drug treatment through detoxification centres. (El Khabar, APS)
