Algerian Officials Assassinated

Two prominent Algerians were assassinated on Tuesday (26 October) in Bordj El-Bahri, an eastern suburb of Algiers. President of the People's Council of the Community Board Nacer Menasria and former parliament member Hourari Mohamed were shot to death by unknown gunmen. While police believe the assassinations to be the work of terrorists, they have raised the possibility the men were killed in reprisal for a business deal with criminal elements. (El Khabar)
