The accompanying FTA programme provides opportunities to improve business, agriculture and agri-business
Newly appointed USAID Mission Director in Morocco, Monica Stein-Olson, said her organisation has earmarked $100m to help the Moroccan government create jobs. Stein-Olson told Le Matin that the agency’s objectives for the 2004-2008 period aim to help Morocco benefit from several opportunities provided by the Moroccan-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA), signed last June between Rabat and Washington. The accompanying FTA programme provides opportunities to improve business, agriculture and agri-business. She added that USAID recently received proposals as part of a five-year programme meant to transform agriculture into a high value-added producing sector. (Le Matin)
