Foreign Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem is serving as chairman of the Algerian delegation participating in the 11th ministerial session of the Mediterranean Forum, which began in Paris on Sunday (24 October). According to an official statement released on Saturday, the two-day session "will allow forum member countries to examine the situation prevailing in the Mediterranean basin, as well as questions linked to the political partnership and security, notably in the fight against terrorism". The participating foreign ministers will discuss European initiatives such as the strategic partnership between the EU and the Mediterranean region and the Middle East, economic and cultural co-operation, and exchange programmes among forum member countries.
