Libya reinstates former energy chief

Former top Libyan energy official Dr. Shokri Ghanem will return to the helm of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Reuters reported on Tuesday (October 27th). Ghanem, 67, resigned as NOC chairman just before the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meeting in Vienna on September 9th. Ghanem offered no explanation as to the circumstances surrounding his reinstatement to Libya's most important petrol position.
