Details emerge on deadly Tizi-Ouzou terror attack

2009-10-23

Algerian Interior Minister Yazid Zerhouni late on Thursday (October 22nd) offered new details on the ambush slaying earlier that day of 7 Tizi-Ouzou security workers. Zerhouni said six people were killed and another was seriously injured when some 20 armed men opened fire around 7 am on a van near Souk El Thenine, 25km south of Tizi Ouzou.

It was the deadliest terrorist attack since July, when 12 soldiers were murdered in Tipaza, APS quoted Zerhouni as saying. Al-Qaeda later claimed responsibility for that ambush.

All of the Thursday victims were Algerians hired by Canadian company SNC Lavalin to provide construction site security, Zerhouni said. Canadian press quoted the engineering firm as saying Thursday that it had no plans to remove employees working on the Algerian water pipeline.

Blah blah blah blah! Zerhouni does not even know how to speak Arabic. They're all terrorists - God guide them.
