Algerian troops foil al-Qaeda ambush; 10 terrorists killed in air, ground assault

Algerian security forces killed ten terrorists in the Al Madjrouna border area between Ghardaia and Bechar provinces, local press reported on Friday (October 9th). Reportedly tipped off about a planned al-Qaeda ambush, gendarmes and special army units attacked a convoy of heavily armed terrorists late Thursday. The military action included aerial bombardment.
