Spain to donate aircraft to Mauritania
2009-10-06
Spain will provide Mauritania with aircraft to help combat illegal migration, Europa Press reported on Monday (October 5th). The offer was submitted Monday in Nouakchott during Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos' visit.
Speaking to reporters after holding bilateral talks with President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Moratinos pledged to encourage Spanish investors to take advantage of new opportunities for economic and social development in Mauritania. The country's July elections opened a "new chapter" in relations with EU member states, he said.
