Ten charged with Algerian gendarmes' slaying

An Algerian court on Wednesday (June 1st) arraigned ten suspected al-Qaeda terrorists for the June 17th ambush murder of at least 19 young gendarmes in Bordj Bou Arreridj, Liberation reported. Another 14 alleged members of a support network were charged with providing information to the terror group on the movement of security forces in the region. In related news, security forces in Khenchela province arrested some 50 suspects in connection with the June 22nd killing of five communal guards.
