Cheb Mami arrested in Paris

French police arrested Algerian rai superstar Cheb Mami upon his arrival in Paris Monday evening (June 29th), AFP reported. He is due to go on trial Thursday for an alleged forced abortion attempt on an ex-girlfriend in 2005. Mami faces 10 years in prison and a 150,000-euro fine if convicted.
