Algeria announces new H1N1 cases, measures to control swine flu spread

Four Algerian expatriates visiting Ras El Oued from Sweden are hospitalised with swine flu symptoms, Liberte reported on Wednesday (June 24th). In a separate case, a 31-old man was quarantined at the University Hospital of Constantine. He arrived last week on the same flight from Frankfurt as Algeria's first swine flu patients.
Algeria's health and interior ministries set up kiosks on the country's popular beaches to raise awareness among holiday makers about the dangers of the H1N1 swine flu virus, Echorouk reported on Wednesday. Speaking at an Algiers forum Tuesday, medical professionals said passengers on some 40 daily flights face inspection for swine flu symptoms. The government already bought 16 million surgical masks and one million protective glasses and plans to purchase vaccines as soon as they become available
Meanwhile, a young woman who arrived at Casablanca airport from Canada was placed under quarantine for H1N1 swine flu at Duc Detovar hospital in Tangier, Moroccan health officials announced on Tuesday.
