Renault announces new Morocco auto plant

Auto company Renault will begin construction in September 2009 on a new manufacturing plant at the Tangiers-Med port complex, company chief Carlos Ghosn said after meeting with King Mohamed VI Monday (June 15th) in Rabat. The plant will eventually manufacture 400,000 vehicles, including Renault's low-cost Logan car. The new factory is expected to generate some 6,000 direct jobs and about 30,000 indirect ones, MAP reported.
