Kadhafi to kick off historic visit to Italy
2009-06-07
Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi will go to Italy on Wednesday (June 10th) for the first time since his accession to power in 1969, international press reported. The agenda for the 3-day visit agenda includes a meeting with Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Ansa quoted a spokesperson for Italy's foreign ministry as saying that the visit became possible as a result of the strengthening of ties between Italy and Libya under the 2008 Friendship and Co-operation treaty.
