Senegal's Foreign Minister Cheikh Tidiane Gadio was in Nouakchott on Thursday (May 7th) to deliver Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade's plan for ending the political crisis in Mauritania, ANI reported. Gadio met with Mauritanian Interim President Ba Mamadou dit M'bare. The president "appreciated the propositions and encouraged us to meet all parties in order to reach a consensus about the plan", ANI quoted Gadio as saying. Senegal is working on the issue in close partnership with President of the African Union Commission chief Jean Ping and AU Chairman and Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, the minister added.
