Mauritanian junta leader visits Libya

A Mauritanian delegation led by junta leader Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz arrived Wednesday (February 25th) in Tripoli for a working visit, Journal Tahalil reported. The group is expected to discuss the political situation in Mauritania with Libyan leader and African Union President Moamer Kadhafi. Earlier this month, a Libyan delegation travelled to Mauritania to launch mediation efforts to resolve the country's political crisis.
In related news, UN Western Sahara envoy Christopher Ross announced his intention to visit Mauritania "at the earliest possible opportunity", the UN News Centre reported on Wednesday (February 25th).
