Polisario seeks to re-open Western Sahara talks

In a New Year address to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council on Wednesday (December 31st), Polisario leader Mohammed Abdelaziz urged them to revive talks on Western Sahara and implement UNSC resolutions. The Polisario and Morocco failed to reach an agreement during four previous rounds of discussions in New York.

Dear Sahrawi friends- Make no mistake, Morocco is awaiting the appointment of a mediator who holds to his position just like Mr van Walsum did. They already looked into Christopher Ross and learned that he favours international law. If you truly want to start negotiations, then you need to find a mediator who is for autonomy just like Morocco proposed.
