Immigrant killed as dozens attempt to breach Melilla

Eighty illegal immigrants tried to storm into the Spanish enclave of Melilla on Thursday (January 1st), MAP reported. One man wounded by a warning shot from Moroccan officers died on his way to a hospital. Attempts to cross into Melilla have increased since late October, when heavy rains and flooding damaged the barriers separating the Spanish enclave from Morocco.
