Moroccan security officers seized a Spain-bound cargo truck containing 4 tonnes of cannabis on Saturday (December 27th) in Tangier, marking a record for the northern port city, MAP reported. So far this year, customs officials in Tangier have seized over 27 tonnes of cannabis and arrested 467 people of different nationalities.
In related news from Algeria, judicial police arrested an international drug baron last week in Oran after months of investigation, Echorouk reported on Friday (December 26th). The unidentified 34 year-old man is allegedly behind the smuggling of 70,000 pills seized last summer in Oran port.
