Algeria pursues tamper-proof biometric ID papers, passports

2008-12-01

The Algerian government is moving forward with plans to issue new biometric identity documents, Tout sur l'Algerie reported on Sunday (November 30th). "The future ID card will not be a simple badge easy to falsify. It will be resistant to tampering. Ministry staff members have been sent abroad to learn from other countries' experiences in this matter," a source close to the Interior Ministry was quoted as saying. In addition to the biometric card, the Interior Ministry has also reportedly accelerated creation of a forgery-proof biometric passport.

This project is already a year old and nothing real has come of it yet! Maybe in ten years there will be, but at that time no one in the world will have identification cards except Algeria!!!

This is a bunch of nonsense. Like always, these are just promises. Our neighbours have simple identity cards that are difficult to falsify. We Algerians are always behind and we always listen to our stupid, poor Minister.
