Ousted Mauritanian PM to remain held in airline liquidation case

A Mauritanian court ordered on Thursday (November 20th) several defendants in the Air Mauritanie liquidation case, including deposed Prime Minister Ahmed Yahya Ould El Waghev and members of the anti-coup National Front for Defence of Democracy (FNDD), to remain jailed in protective custody in Nouakchott, local press reported. The FNDD has questioned the legitimacy of the case, claiming the prosecutors' objective is to distract attention from the international sanctions threatening the ruling military junta
