Algerian diplomat accused of murder undergoes DNA testing in France

Algerian diplomat Mohammed Ziane Hassen, held in France since last August for complicity in the 1987 murder of Algerian attorney Ali Mecili, agreed to undergo DNA tests and handwriting analysis Wednesday to prove his innocence, AFP reported on Thursday (November 13th). Hassen is the protocol chief for Algeria's Foreign Ministry. Last month, Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci asked his French counterpart Bernard Kouchner to quickly resolve the murder case.
