2008-10-03
Mauritanian will ban the export of three types of fish to curb the food crisis in the country, AFP reported Thursday (October 2nd). A government memorandum said bluefish, mullet and meagre would be "exclusively reserved for domestic Mauritanian consumption," adding that the measure is aimed at lowering prices in local markets.
