France begins terrorism trial of 3 young Moroccans

The trial of three Moroccans accused of recruiting and sending fighters to Iraq between 2000 and 2005 began this week in Paris, Liberation reported on Friday (October 3rd). Youssef Boussag, 23, Réda Barazzouk, 26, and Hamid Bach, 38, also allegedly planned attacks in Europe and North Africa and manufactured remote control detonators. If convicted of "criminal association in relation with a terrorist enterprise", the Moroccans face up to ten years in French prison.
