Maghreb countries celebrate Eid al-Fitr

In celebration of Eid al-Fitr and the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Moroccan King Mohammed VI pardoned 77 prisoners on Tuesday (September 30th). In Algeria, the Religious Affairs Ministry announced the holiday will be marked by various festivities on Wednesday. Tunisia also celebrated the day on Wednesday. Local press reported that President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali received messages from leaders around the world congratulating the country on the holiday.
