Moroccan king names chairman of Ulema Council for Moroccan community in Europe

King Mohammed VI on Saturday (September 27th) appointed Taher Tijkani as chairman of the Ulema Council for the Moroccan community in Europe, MAP reported. The move aims at addressing the specific religious and cultural issues of the some 3-million Moroccans living in Europe and preserving their faith and values "in the face of religious fundamentalism and extremism", the king said.
