Algerian airports, port connected to Interpol database
2008-07-27
Algeria's national police organisation (DGSN) has implemented a high-tech system to link key ports and airports to Interpol's criminal information database, Ech Chourouk reported on Saturday (July 26th). The paper quotes the DGSN as saying that the move aims to secure passengers and strengthen control on "passports and borders as well as preventing dangerous criminals from travelling freely across the world." Reportedly, Interpol's database contains information on more than 4 million stolen cars and 15 million missing personal documents.
