Workshop on sanctions against al-Qaeda, Taliban movement held in Algiers

International experts are meeting in Algiers for a workshop on stopping international financial sources for al-Qaeda and the Taliban on Monday (July 21st) and Tuesday, local press reported. Government, legal, financial and security officials will discuss implementing UN Security Council sanctions, the Algerian government said in a Sunday press release. The event, aimed at drawing a road map to thwart funding to terrorist organisations, is attended by experts from the US Bureau of Terror Proprieties Control and a UN Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team.
