Morocco opposes Dutch bill to ban dual nationality for Moroccans

Moroccan Justice Minister Abdelwahed Radi and Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri summoned Dutch ambassador Sjoerd Leenstra to Rabat Monday (July 7th) to officially express their protest over a planned amendment banning Moroccans living in Netherlands from dual nationality, MAP reported. The two ministers told the ambassador that the Moroccan government firmly rejects any policy, "whatever its origins, motivations or designs, which would require Moroccan citizens living in the Netherlands to renounce their Moroccan nationality of origin", the state-run news agency said.
