Morocco's real GDP growth rate reached 2.7% in 2007
2008-06-10
Morocco's real GDP grew by 2.7% in 2007, the High Commissioner for Planning (HCP) announced on Monday (June 9th). However, the 2007 GDP growth was significantly lower than the 7.9% growth rate achieved in 2006, due to unfavourable weather conditions and the resulting decline in agricultural production. The manufacturing and service sectors recorded 6% growth in 2007 against 4.7% the previous year, which could be attributed to continuing investment inflows and a strong tourism season.
