Oran hit by 5.5 earthquake

At least 41 people were slightly injured and a fisherman was reported missing after a 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Algerian town of Oran on Friday (June 6th). The epicentre of the quake was 30km north-west of the city. The quake was felt in several other western wilayas, such as Mascara, Mostaganem and Ain Timouchent. Building collapses were also reported in Carteau, Saint Antoine and El-Hamri. Two aftershocks forced people to leave their homes.
