Morocco, Microsoft ink strategic partnership agreement

Microsoft Corporation CEO Steven Ballmer and Morocco's Minister of Industry, Commerce and IT Ahmed Chami signed a strategic partnership agreement on Tuesday (April 22nd) in Rabat. The accord provides for a number of joint activities aimed at increasing technical capacity in Morocco's educational, economic and administrative sectors. The accord also calls for the creation of Microsoft Academies in several Moroccan universities and the construction of a Microsoft Innovation Centre. Speaking at a news conference following the signature ceremony, Ballmer highlighted Morocco's strategic geographic location and skilled workforce as factors contributing to the potential of the country's IT sector.
