Morocco, France ink co-operation agreements

2008-04-20

A number of agreements were signed on Friday (April 18th) at the end of the 9th meeting of the Morocco-France High Joint Commission in Rabat, MAP reported. According to French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, the deals between the two countries include a commitment to sell a naval warship to aid defence co-ordination. "France is to sell a FREMM (European Multi-Mission Frigate) to Morocco," Fillon was quoted as saying at a press conference in Rabat. Another accord provides for a feasibility study on a high-speed rail line from Tangiers to Casablanca. Another loan will be used for the installation of a tram network in Rabat by two French companies.
