Spain agrees to extradite Morocco terror suspect

The Spanish government approved a Moroccan request on Friday (September 21st) for the extradition of Abdellatif Zahraoui. Morocco seeks Zahraoui, 29, over alleged links to al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb. Spanish authorities arrested Zahraoui and three other Moroccans on June 29th near Barcelona. The four are suspected of belonging to a terror cell that recruited and sent new members to al-Qaeda training camps in the Sahel region. In Morocco, he faces charges of "setting up a group of criminals for perpetrating terrorist acts" and "harming national security".
