The large-scale Tangier-Med Port, which has been under construction since 2003, will be operational in July, Equipment and Transport Minister Karim Ghellab said on Thursday (May 17th) at a cabinet meeting. The port will have an initial capacity of 3.5 million containers, and is expected to reach its full capacity of 8.5 million containers by 2015. Three additional terminals are scheduled for construction by 2012 and the port will be equipped with a natural gas liquefaction terminal and a re-gasification facility.

When are we going to benefit from the big port of Tangier. What is the planned date for launching trips, what is the cost of trips, what is the quality of services which will be offered by this project. We the community living abroad don’t see any advertisement about the port. We ask the specialists to clarify things.

The port of Tangier is intended, as rumours say, to weaken the importance of Ceuta as a gate of Morocco. God knows.

What is the address of the management of the new Mediterranean port? Is it considered the beginning of end of black market coming from Ceuta?

Peace and mercy of God be upon you. I've been living abroad for decades. My love for my country pushes me to visit it at least every year. I always go through Algeziras, Ceuta. But this year, I've decided to go through Tangier-Med port, because it's close to my hometown Tetouane. Therefore, I tried hard to get the price of the ticket from Algeziras to this new port. Please provide our immigrant brothers with ferry prices for individuals and cars. Thank you very much! Viva Morocco, viva the king!
