Algerian police arrest three suspects involved in April 11th bombings
2007-04-25
In the first half of the week, Algerian security forces have arrested three men suspected of involvement in the suicide bombings which rocked Algiers on April 11th, claiming 33 lives, Ech Chourouk reported on Wednesday (April 25th). The three suspects are from Chilalet El Adhaoura, 100 kilometres south of Algiers. The region, in particular Medea and Msila provinces, is believed to be a major hideout for al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb groups. Reportedly, one of suspects arrested in Msila revealed that the three of them had been in touch with Merouane Boudina, who blew himself up in the attack on the government palace.

Long live Algeria.

Hi everyone, I don’t have a comment, but I have information about a planned terrorist attack somewhere in Algeria. I have a problem though: the hot line dedicated to report such information does not seem to be in order. I tried to call but get an out-of-service message. I looked up the ministry directory but have so far been unsuccessful. I have no other contact to report to. Any suggestions? A concerned Algerian.

Good evening Mr Director General of National Security, Colonel Ali Tounsi, How is your family going to face up to the combined cost of Ramadan and going back to school? And, give me the details on the security measures you are taking to protect the Algerian citizens against terrorist attacks—all the more so given the latest attacks that took place in the wilaya of Boumerdes in the community of Yeser in spite of the Minister of the Interior saying that the terrorist groups had been defeated.
