Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and visiting Libyan Foreign Minister Abderrahmane Chelgham discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Arab world on Monday (March 26th). Following the meeting, Chalgam said he had delivered a message to the Tunisian president from Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi, as part of the permanent consultation between the two heads of state. The Libyan official said the meeting had provided an opportunity to discuss the further promotion of bilateral relations, following the last High Joint Commission session in February. "We are at the start of an important stage in strengthening bilateral relations, in the economic, cultural and social fields, and the achievement of joint ventures," Chalgam told reporters. The talks also touched on the development of the Maghreb Union. (TAP, Infotunisie.com)
