The number of tourists visiting Tunisia increased 3.4% to 5.13 million until September 20th, up 3.4% from the year-earlier period, Tunisia's National Tourism Office said Saturday (October 7th). The nights spent at hotels reached 29.31 million.
The highest number of tourists came from Europe -- mainly France, Germany and Italy -- and increased by 1.4% in total. Tourists from neighbouring Maghreb countries were the second-biggest group. Around 1.1 million Libyans, 761,000 Algerians and 25,000 Moroccans visited Tunisia this summer. (La Presse)
