Algeria calls for damage assessment of Lebanese cultural heritage

Algerian Culture Minister Khalida Toumi urged the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, the World Heritage Committee and cultural ministers and institutions around the world to establish a panel to assess "the damage caused to Lebanese cultural heritage sites and taking all necessary measures to protect them". Toumi said on Monday (14 August) that Algeria is ready to send experts. (APS)
