The Moroccan government announced the planned privatisation of 52 per cent of its shares in maritime company Comanav on Thursday (10 August). The announcement was made by the company's Managing Director Toufiq Ibrahimi, who added that a tender will be launched in September/October. He says the remaining 48 per cent of shares, which are equally owned by public funds managing group CDG and the Moroccan Bank of Exterior Commerce, are not involved in the privatisation.
Comanav said a transfer commission will convene in September to decide on the final privatisation plan, adding that the finance ministry and the commission expect bids to be made by the end of December and the contract awarded shortly thereafter. (MAP, L'Economiste, Aujourd'hui Le Maroc)
