Deputy Italian Foreign Minister Ugo Intini started a four-day working visit to Algeria on Thursday (10 August). Talks with Algerian officials are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations in all sectors, the Euro-Mediterranean process and dialogue among countries on the two shores of the western Mediterranean Sea.

On the first day of Intini's visit, Algeria's treasury general director Hadji Baba Ami and Micahl Ron, the head of the central bureau of credits recovery for Italian Export Credits Insurance, signed a bilateral agreement on the early payment of all Algeria's rescheduled debt to Italy of $1.7 billion.
