Algeria to set up regional energy market with Morocco, Tunisia

Nadjib Otmane, head of the Algerian Electricity and Gas Regulation Commission, said on Monday (29 May) that expanding the electricity market and setting up a regional market with Morocco and Tunisia is Algeria's next objective. He was speaking on the sidelines of "Med Workshop" in Rome. Otmane said Algeria understands the need to establish a competitive and transparent electricity market, prompting measures such as the abolition of monopoly. (Ansamed)
