Moroccan film wins Golden Gazelle at Festival of African Cinema in Milan

Moroccan film "Mémoire en detention" (Detained Memory) by Jillali Ferhati won the Golden Gazelle, first prize in the Festival of African Cinema held last week in Milan. The film was also awarded the prize of best male role for Mohamed Merwazi. The 2004 production was awarded at the Festival of Cairo in 2004, the Festival of the Arab Film in Rotterdam in July 2005, the Festival of Maghreb Cinema in Oujda, and the Festival of Mediterranean Cinema in Tangier last December.
