Interpol has issued a worldwide arrest warrant for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of Al- Qaeda operations in Iraq, according to a statement Wednesday (28 December) by the agency. The request was made by Algeria in connection with the kidnapping and murder of two of its diplomats in Iraq in July. Al-Zarqawi is wanted in several countries including Iraq, Germany and Jordan. Jordan's state security court handed al-Zarqawi his third death sentence in absentia earlier this month for planning a failed suicide attack at the border post with Iraq. (Liberte, Reuters)
