Algeria participated in an international conference on education in London that wrapped up on Wednesday (12 January). The country's participation was meant to improve its image and shows its readiness to improve relations with Britain. In a speech called "The Challenges Facing Algeria and North African Countries on Implementing ICT [information and communications technology] in School Education," Algerian Education Minister Boubekeur Benbouzid said serious assistance is needed from the international community to teaching system modernization in Africa.
