Muhammad Tantawi, Grand Sheikh of Egypt's Al Azhar, approved the admission of Algerian imams into the mosque's re-training session. The sessions, held every three months, aim to deepen imam's knowledge of Islamic law. The approval comes soon after a meeting between Algeria's ambassador to Egypt Abdul Qader Hajjar and Sheikh Tantawi. Currently, Al Azhar has 23 Algerian students whose expenses are covered by the Egyptian government. (albawaba.com)
