Paris to Help Train 400 University Professors in Algeria

The French Minister Delegate for Cooperation, Development and Francophony, Xavier Darcos, pledged at a 1 November conference in Paris to help Algeria train 400 university professors and 20,000 other lecturers. Algeria is incorporating new legislation with regard to teachers and professors from abroad as part of its ongoing reform process. Darcos described the initiative as a project of mutual benefit. Algeria's young population is increasingly attending university with the number of university students set to double by 2008. (albawaba.com)
