Algeria Telecom Aims for a Million Subscribers
2004-12-08
Algeria Telecom (Mobilis) Chief Executive Hachemi Belhamdi announced that his company is seeking to raise its number of subscribers from 911,000 to 1 million by the end of December 2004. He said Mobilis has doubled its subscriber base three times since last July. Part of the growth came from special offers during Ramadan when Mobilis decreased prices of "Smart" prepaid telephone cards. As a result, Algerians bought around 10,000 cards per day. (albawaba.com)
