Algerian, Moroccan and Tunisian Businesswomen Participate in US Internships

More than 40 women aged 22-30 came from 16 Arab countries, including Maghreb nations, to participate in the first US Business Internship Program for Young Arab Women. After a month of academic coursework in business management at Duke University or Emory University, the women spent three months gaining practical experience at major US corporations such as Pfizer, Boeing and Walt Disney .

The programme was sponsored by the US State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) in co-operation with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. MEPI was created by the US government to support economic, political and educational reform in the Middle East and to promote opportunity for all people of the region, especially women and youth.
