Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan Move Towards Trade Accord
2004-11-16
Egypt recently proposed new measures to complete the implementation of the 2001 Agadir Declaration. It provides for the creation of a free trade zone between Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. The projected free trade zone, open to other Arab countries wishing to join, is designed to achieve economic integration. It will also promote the export of duty-free goods to European markets in accordance with bilateral agreements between the EU and each of the four countries. (Al Ayam)
