Morocco expects date production to reach 70,000 tonnes this year -- a 28 per cent increase over last year. According to the ministry of agriculture, the increased production resulted from good weather conditions and sufficient rainfall. High quality dates account for 35 per cent of this year's production while average and low quality dates represent respectively 38 per cent and 26 per cent of the output. (MAP)
